Michael "Eppy" Epstein is a legendary club owner, having owned the seminal rock club, My Father's Place in Long Island. At My Father's Place, Epstein nurtured some of Rock's most important bands including, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Billy Joel, The Police, The Go-Gos, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Blondie and The Talking Heads, as well as unknown comics such as Eddie Murphy, Andy Kaufman, and Billy Crystal. Epstein was the only major club owner in America to regularly incorporate reggae and booked virtually every important reggae act, helping to make it a mainstream phenomena. Eppy acquired WLIR in the early 1970's and turned it into one of the most important radio stations in the country, and his live broadcasts from My Father's Place are legendary.   After My Father's Place closed, Epstein continued to book shows, recently working for the past seven years with Little Steven Van Zandt to help find new Garage Rock bands and put them on tour.
